Affinity Brew Co. — 4 Years On.

So, here we are! Approaching our fourth birthday (which we always know is coming when our mates Unity Brewing announce theirs, and we realise we should probably do something to mark it) with a mixture of bewilderment, fatigue but inexhaustible (ill-advised?) hope.

This, for so many reasons, has been a year like no other; our hearts break for the millions affected by the pandemic and we continue to try to consider human angles above financial ones in our decision making. However, from a business perspective, creativity and diversification has been the key to our survival — along with so many other young businesses.

To be clear though, we are a long way from being out of the woods yet!

We plan a crowdfunding campaign of sorts in the new year, to enable us to take the next steps towards securing our future — albeit very different to the one we originally had planned — but for now, we simply need to make the most of what we have available to us and hope that we create products that people want to buy. The new shop in Crystal Palace has been amazingly uplifting to us all, and to be welcomed so quickly and completely into the community — and it truly is a community — is probably the greatest thrill we’ve had in our four years of existence.

This week sees the launch of two products that represent a huge part of where we’re going as a brewery: a boxset of beers including the first from our new brewpub collaboration at Brixton’s Grosvenor Arms, and the first editions of our home brewing kits.

Both will be available from midday Wednesday October 21st on our webshop.

Boxsets will include cans of our new US Election special, “Echoes” — a Maple Syrup and Ancho Chilli Imperial Stout — you really have to try this one to believe it — and will be limited to just 50 sets. We’ll deliver locally and nationwide, or you can choose to pick up from our Crystal Palace shop if that’s easier.

The brewkit has been carefully put together using our many years of homebrewing experience, and contains everything you’ll need to kickstart your own adventure in the wonderful world of creating beer. Furthermore, we’ll be stocking all the ingredients you’ll need for further brews at the shop, together with regular online tutorials and exclusive recipe releases.

We’re very excited about these new strings to our bow, and we look forward to getting your feedback on how you think we’re doing.
